Memes as a measurable transmission layer: not culture-as-vibes, but a map of the path a unit of information takes, and a clock on how fast it moves. "Memrs" is the typed word; the object is memes.

Connections (held loosely)

• diffusion-of-innovations — Rogers already names communication channels, time, and a social system as the four elements of spread. A meme study would be the same skeleton pointed at a joke or image instead of a product.
• bass-diffusion-model — the imitation coefficient q is word-of-mouth / network copy. Memes look like a high-q, short-horizon burst; the product S-curve is the slow cousin.
