2026 08 26 Autoresearch Ferc Er26 3380 Still NO Order

Calendar hold. No FERC order on PJM Reliability Backstop Procurement (ER26-3380) as of 2026-08-26. PJM asked approval by Sept 29 so the $555/MW-day backstop can open Sept 30. Do not re-rate CEG.

Summary

No order. Five calendar days after the Friday 2026-08-21 17:00 ET comment close, FERC has not issued on ER26-3380 (PJM Reliability Backstop Procurement). Power Magazine (Aug 13 filing recap, still the operational calendar): PJM asked FERC to approve the RBP framework by Sept 29; bid window Sept 30–Oct 21; selection ~six weeks; results targeted around Dec 2; offer cap $555/MW-day; 6,831 MW shortfall for 2028/29. A parallel IRAS / large-load filing is ER26-3515 (Aug 13), not this docket — do not conflate silence on 3380 with IRAS.

NYU Policy Integrity comments dated 2026-08-21 argue FERC should reject the backstop as unjust and unreasonable. That is an advocacy filing, not a Commission action.

Do not re-rate ceg / pjm-capacity-prices-to-nuclear-premium. Same calendar hold as 08-25. Next gate remains Sept 29.

Findings

  • Comment close on ER26-3380 was 2026-08-21 17:00 ET. Searches of FERC eLibrary issuances and trade press on 2026-08-26 returned no Commission order on this docket.
  • Power Magazine: PJM (Aug 13) asked FERC to approve the RBP by Oct 12 in one recap and by Sept 29 in the RBP-specific recap so procurement can open Sept 30. The load-bearing date for this chain is the Sept 29 / Sept 30 auction window, unchanged.
  • Policy Integrity PDF (filed 2026-08-21 on ER26-3380-000): backstop auction start Sept 30, close Oct 21; matching/bilateral RFP can proceed without a tariff change. Asks rejection, not delay.
  • IRAS (curtail new ≥50 MW loads after June 1, 2027 without BYO capacity) is a separate Aug 13 filing, ER26-3515. Not an ER26-3380 order.
